It’s time to celebrate! This November marks the TWO Year Anniversary of the Haven Collective expansion to the Downtown Mansion.
We want to celebrate this milestone by highlighting the incredible history of the building we call home, as well as featuring the businesses and people that reside here today.
The decision to expand a few years ago came pretty easily. We knew it was time to open a second location when we reached capacity at our first location in Upper Arlington. Having the offices full and not having the ability to support more people in the community had us looking for additional space but gave members the same welcoming feeling. When we learned the amazing history of the Mansion at 620 E Broad, we knew it was meant to be our next Haven.
To start, let’s kick things off with a brief account of this historic landmark!
History of 620 East Broad Street
Also known as “the Mansion” for the Haven Collective Community.
The Mansion was built in 1875 by Benjamin Huntington of the Huntington Bank family. As the city expanded, the family moved East after the turn of the century and in the 1920s, the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation bought the property, turning it into an office park. It was the Ohio Farm Bureau that founded Nationwide Insurance within these walls and remained there for more than a dozen years before outgrowing the space and moving closer to their present-day office.
It’s been an office building ever since with many different businesses, law firms, and campaign headquarters calling it home.
In 2012, our landlord and his business partners bought the twin mansions and renovated them, bringing them back to life (Dispatch article). Once we put our touches on the space, Haven Collective was ready to call it home, officially opening our doors on November 11, 2019.
The Haven Collective Mansion is centrally located in downtown Columbus, Ohio — surrounded by some of the most incredible nonprofits and just a short walk from the Columbus Museum of Art, Columbus Metropolitan Library, Topiary Park, and Olde Towne East.
We’re proud to be part of this rich history and we know members are too.

Q&A with Maddi Napier, Founder, and Principal Advisor:
Tell us about your business! What do you do and how do you serve others?
Maddi: My business is called Minerva Wealth Planning and we help individuals, families and small businesses create a plan for their finances they can understand. We are a woman-owned, fee-only financial planning firm based in Columbus but serving people across the entire United States. We are not a traditional financial planning firm and our clients don’t need a lot of assets to work with us because of our flat fee-for-service model.
How has having a home base at Haven Collective enhanced your business?
Maddi: Having a physical location has enhanced Minerva Wealth Planning in multiple ways. Primarily it has given us space to expand because we added our first employee in June of this year. Having a private space where my employee, Sydney, and I can work together has been beneficial in keeping us aligned on goals and accomplishing training more easily. Additionally, having a space at the Haven provides so many opportunities to connect with other business owners and collaborate. I was able to join a mastermind to learn about best practices from other business owners. Finally, while it wasn’t a primary reason for choosing the Haven, there is the opportunity to find clients amongst the members at the Haven which is the cherry on top!

Minerva Wealth Planning was established in May 2019 by Founder and Principal Advisor, Maddi Napier. After spending a decade in financial services, Maddi felt there were unique needs that individuals, families, and small businesses had but finding a financial planner that could serve those needs was impossible. A Q&A with Nina, Founder and Owner of Nourished by Nina
Tell us about your business! What do you do and how do you serve others?
Nina: I am a certified Fertility Awareness Educator (FAM), hormone coach, and Reiki Practitioner. My coaching programs focus on FAM for optimized conception, and/or non-hormonal birth control, and I passionately believe that all women deserve to understand how their body functions. I take a holistic approach, focusing on nutrition and mineral testing, cycle charting, and lifestyle modifications to help my clients achieve their desired fertility goals. I work with clients in my signature private program as well as in my new online program LUNA. I am also the host of the Healing Hormones Podcast, where I interview leading women in the world of menstrual health!
How has having a home base at Haven Collective enhanced your business?
Nina: I love having a dedicated space to work throughout the week. It feels nice to have a community with other business owners who have like-minded goals. I also have quite a few friends who co-work through Haven and it feels nice to empower each other and support such a great group of people!

When the very first member joined Haven we realized that the market research we’d done prior to starting was correct. There was a need for what we were building, and so much so that people were drawn to our vision for the community even while we were still under construction. Those first members trusted us and we were able to build upon the confidence they gave us to bring our vision to life.
Over the three+ years that Haven Collective has served the Columbus community, we’ve heard from members that so much of what has helped them grow at Haven was connecting to the other members in the community, tapping into our business knowledge, and over all, being held accountable to the goals they set for themselves by others.
